Get what you pay I purchased this electric chain saw because the price was under $50 and I did not have a heavy need for one, just the occasional larger limb pruning around a typical home. The chain saw I received was clearly refurbished and shipped with minimal packing, the bar oil had leaked. There was no case for the saw or chain bar cover.
The saw itself is easy to use and fairly intuitive. I don't think the saw was any great saving.
I got a tool that I'll occasionally need for a cost I could live with. Verified purchase: Yes Condition: Refurbished. Plastic toy level construction Way below the quality of the 'equivalent' 16' 3.5hp Craftsman electric I'm replacing.
Abnormal gear noise right out of the box. Took it apart to investigate. No clear cause other than poor design or execusion. The powdered metal pinion gear was rattling around on the shaft. I expect it will split eventually.
The chain is very cheaply made so you arent even getting Oregon@ level quality. The Craftsman I had is well made compared to this.
I also have experience with gas Homelite homeowner saws and they are the same level of disappointing quality and quite frankly unacceptable for a tool that can cut your leg off. The tensioner? Just don't waste money or time on this level of insult Verified purchase: Yes Condition: Refurbished. Introduction to classical mechanics morin instructor manual.
